You have called me into your kingdom (2/4)

  • In my distress I called out to the Lord;
    he answered by setting me free.
  • For you, O God, have put us to the test;
    you have purified us as silver is refined.
  • I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
  • When I sing to you, my lips will rejoice,
    and so will my soul, which you have redeemed.
  • Yours, O Lord, are greatness,
    power, glory, strength, and majesty,
    for everything in heaven and on earth is yours.
    Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom;
    you are exalted as head over all.
  • Then Jesus said to him,
    “You have come to believe
    because you have seen me.
    Blessed are those who have not seen
    and yet have come to believe.”
  • Until now, in my name,
    you have not asked for anything.
    Ask and you will receive,
    so that your joy may be complete.
  • And let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it was for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful.
  • Blessed are the peacemakers,
    for they will be called children of God.
  • But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
  • He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
  • You have already been cleansed
    by the word I have spoken to you.
  • I press on toward the finishing line to win the heavenly prize to which God has called me in Christ Jesus.
  • I came from the Father
    and have come into the world.
    Now I am leaving the world
    and returning to the Father.
  • Brethren, you were called to freedom. However, make sure that you do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Instead, serve one another in love.
  • O Lord, you have examined me
    and you know me.
    You know when I sit and when I stand;
    you perceive my thoughts from a distance.
  • Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
  • But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people claimed by God as his own possession,” so that you may proclaim the praise of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
  • Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your noble confession of faith in the presence of many witnesses.
  • Jesus traveled all throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and curing every type of disease and illness among the people.
  • Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. The measure that you use for others will be used to measure you.
  • You have given me the shield of your salvation;
    your right hand sustains me,
    and your goodness makes me great.
    You broadened the path beneath me
    so that my feet have never stumbled.
  • I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you already have so that no one may rob you of your crown.
  • And eternal life is this:
    to know you,
    the only true God,
    and the one you have sent,
    Jesus Christ.
  • I write these things to you
    who believe in the name of the Son of God
    so that you may know
    that you have eternal life.

It was for this purpose that he called you through our gospel so that you might come to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Bible verse of the day

Stay awake and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.
