| You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. | How I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house. |

| I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. | These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. |
| You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own. | And you shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine. |
| Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. | Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. |
