- The fear of man bringeth a snare:
but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. - Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

- Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
- Salvation belongeth unto the Lord:
thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
- Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.
- The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich:
he bringeth low, and lifteth up. - Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.
- One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
- And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.
- Judge not, that ye be not judged.
- Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
- Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
- But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.
- Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
- He that hideth hatred with lying lips,
and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. - Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
- Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
- Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
