Bible Verses about 'Candle'

  • For You light my lamp;
    The Lord my God illumines my darkness.
  • Now no one lights a lamp and covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand so that those who come in may see the light.
  • Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
  • Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?
  • And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.
  • I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
  • The Lord is for me; I will not fear;
    What can man do to me?
  • Or can a person walk on hot coals
    And his feet not be scorched?
  • An excellent wife, who can find her?
    For her worth is far above jewels.
  • Where can I go from Your Spirit?
    Or where can I flee from Your presence?
    If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
    If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.
  • How can a young man keep his way pure?
    By keeping it according to Your word.
  • And those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
  • But Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can’? All things are possible for the one who believes.”
  • No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
  • In God, whose word I praise,
    In God I have put my trust;
    I shall not be afraid.
    What can mere mortals do to me?
  • You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
  • For the customs of the peoples are futile;
    For it is wood cut from the forest,
    The work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool.
    They decorate the idol with silver and gold;
    They fasten it with nails and hammers
    So that it will not totter.
    They are like a scarecrow in a cucumber field,
    And they cannot speak;
    They must be carried,
    Because they cannot walk!
    Do not fear them,
    For they can do no harm,
    Nor can they do any good.
  • I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
  • Open your mouth for the people who cannot speak,
    For the rights of all the unfortunate.
  • “Can a person hide himself in hiding places
    So that I do not see him?” declares the Lord.
    “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord.
  • As he came naked from his mother’s womb, so he will return as he came. He will take nothing from the fruit of his labor that he can carry in his hand.
  • Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much.
  • The Almighty—we cannot find Him;
    He is exalted in power
    And He will not violate justice and abundant righteousness.
  • Jesus responded and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
  • Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people.
