- A froward man soweth strife:
and a whisperer separateth chief friends. - He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;
but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. - A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. - But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
- Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth,
and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart;
and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. - Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise:
and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. - Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
- The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him,
to all that call upon him in truth. - No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
- Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
- Seek ye the Lord while he may be found,
call ye upon him while he is near. - The Lord is good,
a strong hold in the day of trouble;
and he knoweth them that trust in him. - The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
- From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. - Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
- But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
- Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
- But he knoweth the way that I take:
when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
My foot hath held his steps,
his way have I kept, and not declined.
The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us. He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;
but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.Next verse!With image
