| I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. | Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. | And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. |
| I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. | Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. |
| He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. | He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! |
| And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. | And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. |
| Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. | Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. |

For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. |
| Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” | When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” |
