Fear not (2/4)

  • Teach me Your way, Lord;
    I will walk in Your truth;
    Unite my heart to fear Your name.
  • The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
    All those who follow His commandments have a good understanding;
    His praise endures forever.
  • Are five sparrows not sold for two assaria? And yet not one of them has gone unnoticed in the sight of God. But even the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not fear; you are more valuable than a great number of sparrows.
  • Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I fear no evil, for You are with me;
    Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
  • So the Lord commanded us to follow all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God for our own good always and for our survival, as it is today.
  • You shall follow the Lord your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.
  • How great is Your goodness,
    Which You have stored up for those who fear You,
    Which You have performed for those who take refuge in You,
    Before the sons of mankind!
  • Now then, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; be careful about what you do, for the Lord our God will have no part in injustice or partiality, or in the taking of a bribe.
  • If only they had such a heart in them, to fear Me and keep all My commandments always, so that it would go well with them and with their sons forever!
  • Therefore, you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.
  • Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
  • So the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace, as it was being built up; and as it continued in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it kept increasing.
  • Are two sparrows not sold for an assarion? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all counted. So do not fear; you are more valuable than a great number of sparrows.
  • But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and frolic like calves from the stall.
  • But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting for those who fear Him,
    And His justice to the children’s children,
    To those who keep His covenant
    And remember His precepts, so as to do them.
  • But when Jesus heard this, He responded to him, “Do not be afraid any longer; only believe, and she will be made well.”
  • And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.”
  • Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
    And whose trust is the Lord.
    For he will be like a tree planted by the water
    That extends its roots by a stream,
    And does not fear when the heat comes;
    But its leaves will be green,
    And it will not be anxious in a year of drought,
    Nor cease to yield fruit.
  • For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
  • Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
    Who walks in His ways.
  • So that we confidently say,
    “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.
    What will man do to me?”
  • Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or in dread of them, for the Lord your God is the One who is going with you. He will not desert you or abandon you.
  • And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?
  • Praise the Lord!
    Blessed is a person who fears the Lord,
    Who greatly delights in His commandments.
  • In God, whose word I praise,
    In God I have put my trust;
    I shall not be afraid.
    What can mere mortals do to me?

For the customs of the peoples are futile;
For it is wood cut from the forest,
The work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool.
They decorate the idol with silver and gold;
They fasten it with nails and hammers
So that it will not totter.
They are like a scarecrow in a cucumber field,
And they cannot speak;
They must be carried,
Because they cannot walk!
Do not fear them,
For they can do no harm,
Nor can they do any good.
