- Go, eat your bread with joy,
And drink your wine with a merry heart;
For God has already accepted your works. - Do not say,
“Why were the former days better than these?”
For you do not inquire wisely concerning this. - Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
- There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
- Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
- You are all fair, my love,
And there is no spot in you. - I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
- There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?
- Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
- It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy,
And afterward to reconsider his vows. - But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
- These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
- But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
- And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
- For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
- My times are in Your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me. - It is honorable for a man to stop striving,
Since any fool can start a quarrel. - And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
- Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
- Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.”
- And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
- And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
- But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
