Goodness of god (3/4)

  • However, God has revealed these things to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit explores everything, even the depths of God.
  • Rather, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
  • Jesus answered, “As it is written:
‘Man does not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.’ ”
  • Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How inscrutable are his judgments and how unfathomable his ways!
  • Through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves in Christ.
  • For the wages of sin is death, but the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Therefore, a Sabbath rest still remains for the people of God, since those who enter into God’s rest also cease from their own labors as God did from his.
  • For I am not ashamed of the gospel, since it is the power of God that offers salvation to everyone who has faith—to Jews first, and then to Gentiles as well.
  • Therefore, put on the armor of God, so that you will be able to hold fast on the evil day and to hold your ground with all your strength.
  • The heavens proclaim the glory of God;
the firmament shows forth the work of his hands.
One day imparts that message to the next,
and night conveys that knowledge to night.
  • Just as you do not know the path of the wind
or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb,
so you do not know the work of God,
    the Creator of all.
  • Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
  • Adulterers! Do you not know that love of the world results in enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a lover of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
  • For all have sinned and thereby are deprived of the glory of God, and all are justified by the gift of his grace that is given freely through the redemption in Christ Jesus.
  • When they had finished their prayer, the place where they were gathered together shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and proclaimed the word of God fearlessly.
  • Rejoice always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
  • He has satisfied the thirsty
and filled the hungry with good things.
  • For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. This has not come from you but from the gift of God. It does not come from works, so that no one can boast.
  • Everyone who sins comes from the devil,
for the devil has been a sinner
    from the very beginning.
The Son of God appeared for this very purpose:
to destroy the work of the devil.
  • My soul thirsts for God, the living God.
When shall I come to behold the face of God?
  • In it the righteousness of God is revealed, beginning in faith and established in faith. As it is written: “The one who is righteous will live through faith.”
  • Therefore, brethren, I implore you by the mercies of God to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice that is holy and acceptable to God—a spiritual act of worship.
  • And just as no human being comprehends any person’s innermost being except the person’s own spirit within him, so also no one comprehends what pertains to God except the Spirit of God.
  • However, now that you have been freed from sin and bound to the service of God, the benefit you receive is sanctification, and the end is eternal life.
  • The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the child to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.”

And now it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. The life I live now in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.

The love of the Lord is never exhausted,
nor do his deeds of mercy ever come to an end.
They are renewed every morning;
his faithfulness never ceases.
