- The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him. - Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
- And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
- “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.” - The Lord redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. - God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
- For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
- Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.
- Blessed are those who keep his testimonies,
who seek him with their whole heart. - Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! - Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
- Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.
- But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
- And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him.
- Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
- But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
- So you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and by fearing him.
- By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
- Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
- And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.
- Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
- Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love. - And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”
- That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.
