- Now John himself had a garment of camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.

Righteous and just is He. - No one is to seek his own advantage, but rather that of his neighbor.
- I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And I wait for His word. - In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried to my God for help;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry for help before Him came into His ears. - Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.
- Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.
- For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
- Behold, as for the impudent one,
His soul is not right within him;
But the righteous one will live by his faith. - Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Exalt Him who rides through the deserts,
Whose name is the Lord, and be jubilant before Him.
A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows,
Is God in His holy dwelling. - Or can a person walk on hot coals
And his feet not be scorched? - One who turns his ear away from listening to the Law,
Even his prayer is an abomination. - Bless the Lord, my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name. - The one who has found his life will lose it, and the one who has lost his life on My account will find it.
- And He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed.
- Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
Who walks in His ways. - A rich person’s wealth is his strong city,
And like a high wall in his own imagination.
