- He who builds His layers in the sky,
And has founded His strata in the earth;
Who calls for the waters of the sea,
And pours them out on the face of the earth—
The Lord is His name. - Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.
- Now John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.
- For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning. - In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
- Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith. - Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
- Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
- He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
- One who turns away his ear from hearing the law,
Even his prayer is an abomination. - Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
By His name Yah,
And rejoice before Him.
A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows,
Is God in His holy habitation. - The rich man’s wealth is his strong city,
And like a high wall in his own esteem. - He is the Rock, His work is perfect;
For all His ways are justice,
A God of truth and without injustice;
Righteous and upright is He. - In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried out to my God;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry came before Him, even to His ears. - I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And in His word I do hope. - But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,
To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them. - Can one walk on hot coals,
And his feet not be seared? - For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
- And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.
- As he came from his mother’s womb, naked shall he return,
To go as he came;
And he shall take nothing from his labor
Which he may carry away in his hand. - Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
- There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
- For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
- Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.
- Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
