If you love me, you will keep my commandments. | If you love Me, keep My commandments. |
Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you then will truly be free. | Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. |
|
If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. | For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. |
If your brother should sin, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. Even if he wrongs you seven times a day, and comes back to you seven times to say, ‘I am sorry,’ you must forgive him. | If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him. |
My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad. | My son, if your heart is wise, My heart will rejoice—indeed, I myself. |
Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right? | And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? |
If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. | If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. |
In the same way, faith by itself is dead if it does not have works. | Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. |
The Lord is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will permit you to find him, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you. | The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. |
If your brother wrongs you, go and take up the matter with him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. | Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. |
Jesus answered, “If it is possible! All things are possible for one who has faith.” | Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” |
What then if you were to behold the Son of Man ascend to where he was before? | What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? |
If he refuses to listen to them, report it to the Church. And if he refuses to listen to the Church, treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. | And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector. |
But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it with patience. | But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. |
Where can I go to hide from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend to the heavens, you are there; if I take my rest in the netherworld, you are also there. | Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. |
Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth: it is better for you that I depart. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you, whereas if I go, I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. |
If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit. | If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. |
This saying can be trusted: If we have died with him, we shall also live with him. | This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. |
What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us? | What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
However, if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you are upright in your dealings with your neighbor; if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, and the widow; if you do not shed innocent blood in this place; and if you do not follow other gods and thereby cause your own destruction, then I will allow you to live in this place, in the land that I gave as a permanent gift to your fathers long ago. | For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt, then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever. |
Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?” | Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” |
But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. | But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. |
If you forgive others for the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. | For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
If anyone wishes to serve me, he must follow me. Where I am, there also will my servant be. If anyone serves me, my Father will honor that person. | If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. |
This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples: if you love one another. | By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. |
