- My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. - Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
- Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.
- And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
- Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.
- Let us test and examine our ways,
and return to the Lord! - So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
- Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
- Let all that you do be done in love.
- Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord! - Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
- Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. - And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
- Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good success
in the sight of God and man. - Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. - But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. - For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
- And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
- As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain your mercy from me;
your steadfast love and your faithfulness will ever preserve me! - To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.
- If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
- Ponder the path of your feet;
then all your ways will be sure. - And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
- Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
