- Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
- Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
- Teach me your way, O Lord,
that I may walk in your truth;
unite my heart to fear your name. - Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. - For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - My mouth is filled with your praise,
and with your glory all the day. - Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
- Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
- Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.
- Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin.
- Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking deceit. - I delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart. - Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously;
let this be made known in all the earth. - Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
- Whoever is wise, let him understand these things;
whoever is discerning, let him know them;
for the ways of the Lord are right,
and the upright walk in them,
but transgressors stumble in them. - May he grant you your heart's desire
and fulfill all your plans! - For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly execute justice one with another, if you do not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.
- Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.
- Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.
- Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
- Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.” - For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. - Salvation belongs to the Lord;
your blessing be on your people! Selah - On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”
- Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
