| Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. | If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. |

All your male and female servants must rest as you do. |
| May He grant you your heart’s desire And fulfill your whole plan! | May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. |

| Repent and turn away from all your offenses, so that wrongdoing does not become a stumbling block to you. | Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! |
| “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. | “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” |
| Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. | Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. |
| Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.’ | Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. |

| If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well. | Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. |
| And you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst. | You must serve only the Lord your God. If you do, I will bless you with food and water, and I will protect you from illness. |
| But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses. | But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. |
| Salvation belongs to the Lord; May Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah | Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people. |
| Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have passed over me. | I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me. |
| Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established. | Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. |
| But make sure your statement is, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil origin. | Just say a simple, ‘Yes, I will,’ or ‘No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one. |
| Let love of the brothers and sisters continue. Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. | Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! |
| For Your goodness is great to the heavens And Your truth to the clouds. | For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. |
| Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. | Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. |
| When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens. | In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle. |
