Life with God (2/4)

  • Listen, my son, and receive my sayings.
The years of your life will be many.
  • Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
  • A gentle tongue is a tree of life,
but deceit in it crushes the spirit.
  • The ransom of a man’s life is his riches,
but the poor hear no threats.
  • For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
  • He who follows after righteousness and kindness
    finds life, righteousness, and honor.
  • I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.
  • Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
  • For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace.
  • But now, being made free from sin and having become servants of God, you have your fruit of sanctification and the result of eternal life.
  • ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.
  • But these things don’t count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.
  • Death and life are in the power of the tongue;
those who love it will eat its fruit.
  • Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
  • Because your loving kindness is better than life,
    my lips shall praise you.
So I will bless you while I live.
I will lift up my hands in your name.
  • Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
  • He is in the way of life who heeds correction,
but he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.
  • These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
  • That as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”
  • For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now and of that which is to come.
  • For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
  • You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman as to the weaker vessel, as also being joint heirs of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
  • He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
  • Even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?
