- But I will sing of your strength,
in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble. - For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
- And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?
- He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God. - Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands. - And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

- For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
- We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.
- Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life. - Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.
- Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin. - Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
- Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness. - Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
- However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
- This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
