| Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness, for you reward every man according to his work. | And so does kindness, O Lord. You reward each person in accordance with his deeds. |

For the perverse man is an abomination to the Lord whose friendship is bestowed only upon the upright. |
| “They shall be mine,” says Yahweh of Armies, “my own possession in the day that I make. I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.” | They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my own special possession on the day when I act, and I will have compassion on them as a father has compassion on the son who serves him. |
| Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man will see the Lord. | Seek peace with everyone, as well as the holiness without which no one will ever see the Lord. |
| Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work. | Behold, I am coming soon, and I will bring with me my reward to repay everyone as his deeds deserve. |

| Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. | Flee from sexual immorality! Every other sin that a person commits is outside the body, but the fornicator sins against his own body. |
| A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. | A man may plan his own course, but the Lord makes his steps secure. |
| A fool shows his annoyance the same day, but one who overlooks an insult is prudent. | A fool is quick to show his anger, but a prudent man ignores an insult. |
