| His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. | According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. |
| Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. | Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. |
| If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. | So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. | And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. |

| The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. | Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. |
| What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? | For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? |
| He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” | And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. |
| “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” | The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. |

| Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” | And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. |
