- My soul, wait in silence for God alone,
For my hope is from Him. - Hear my prayer, Lord, and listen to my cry for help;
Do not be silent to my tears;
For I am a stranger with You,
One who lives abroad, like all my fathers. - In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried to my God for help;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry for help before Him came into His ears. - My soul waits in silence for God alone;
From Him comes my salvation. - When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away
Through my groaning all day long. - The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him.
- And I will put My Spirit within you and bring it about that you walk in My statutes, and are careful and follow My ordinances.
- You shall keep My Sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am the Lord.
- Lord, all my desire is before You;
And my sighing is not hidden from You. - I cried to Him with my mouth,
And He was exalted with my tongue. - I acknowledged my sin to You,
And I did not hide my guilt;
I said, “I will confess my wrongdoings to the Lord”;
And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom should I fear?
The Lord is the defense of my life;
Whom should I dread? - Behold, God is my helper;
The Lord is the sustainer of my soul. - If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.
- “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I wait for Him.” - But You, Lord, are a shield around me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head. - “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. - My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.
- When my anxious thoughts multiply within me,
Your comfort delights my soul. - I will raise my eyes to the mountains;
From where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth. - For You are my rock and my fortress;
For the sake of Your name You will lead me and guide me. - Listen, my son, and accept my sayings,
And the years of your life will be many. - I spread out my hands to You;
My soul longs for You, like a weary land. Selah - The Lord God is my strength,
And He has made my feet like deer’s feet,
And has me walk on my high places. - If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
