Bible Verses about 'Set'

  • Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
  • I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
    I set your rules before me.
  • Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
    the Lord answered me and set me free.
  • I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
  • I have set the Lord always before me;
    because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
  • For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
  • You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
  • For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
  • For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
  • Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil.
  • Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
  • Set me as a seal upon your heart,
    as a seal upon your arm,
    for love is strong as death,
    jealousy is fierce as the grave.
    Its flashes are flashes of fire,
    the very flame of the Lord.
  • And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
  • Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
  • So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
  • Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.
  • While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
  • For so the Lord has commanded us, saying,
    ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
    that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’
  • Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
  • When your eyes light on it, it is gone,
    for suddenly it sprouts wings,
    flying like an eagle toward heaven.
  • The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
    because he has anointed me
    to proclaim good news to the poor.
    He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
    and recovering of sight to the blind,
    to set at liberty those who are oppressed.
  • But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.
  • I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
  • You shall be holy to me, for I the Lord am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine.
  • There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
