- God shall bless us;
let all the ends of the earth fear him! - Who builds his upper chambers in the heavens
and founds his vault upon the earth;
who calls for the waters of the sea
and pours them out upon the surface of the earth—
the Lord is his name. - For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - For you are my rock and my fortress;
and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me. - The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - But as for me, I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
my God will hear me. - For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.
- The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters. - My times are in your hand;
rescue me from the hand of my enemies
and from my persecutors! - And said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For he who is least among you all is the one who is great.”
- For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
- Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had had a disabling spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.” And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, “There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.
- Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident. - Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love. - Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin! - But I am the Lord your God
from the land of Egypt;
you know no God but me,
and besides me there is no savior. - I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
- I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
- Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”
- O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar. - You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am.
- Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it will eat its fruits. - But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
O Lord, all my longing is before you;
my sighing is not hidden from you.
