- You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you.
- Just as he came forth naked from his mother’s womb,

with nothing remaining from his labor
that he can carry away in his hands. - How great is your goodness, O Lord,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and which you bestow on those who take refuge in you,
in the presence of all the people. - Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your noble confession of faith in the presence of many witnesses.
- After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not depend upon an abundance of one’s possessions.”
- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love overlooks all offenses. - And yet he is aware of everywhere I go;
if he were to test me, I would emerge like pure gold.
My footsteps have not strayed from the path he established;
I have followed his way and never turned aside. - Jesus answered him,
“Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we will come to him
and make our abode with him.” - Love one another with genuine affection. Esteem others more highly than yourself.
- So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own.
- The way of God is blameless,
and the Lord’s promise proves true;
he is a shield to all
who flee to him for safety. - Beloved,
since God loved us so much,
we should love one another. - Anyone who has received my commandments
and observes them
is the one who loves me.
And whoever loves me
will be loved by my Father,
and I will love him
and reveal myself to him. - The second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
- Take no part in the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather seek to expose them.
For it is shameful even to speak of what deeds people do in secret. - Let your love be sincere. Loathe what is evil and hold fast to what is good.
- Love is patient;
love is charitable.
Love is not envious;
it does not have an inflated opinion of itself;
it is not filled with its own importance.
Love is never rude;
it does not seek its own advantage.
It is not prone to anger;
neither does it brood over setbacks. - The Lord is good,
an unfailing refuge in a time of distress.
He takes care of those who place their trust in him. - I love the Lord because he has heard my voice
and listened to my cry for mercy,
because he has inclined his ear to me
on the day when I called out to him. - Dear children,
let us love not in word or speech
but in deed and truth. - If I give away everything to feed the poor
and hand over my body to be burned,
but do not have love,
I achieve nothing. - No one can have greater love
than to lay down his life for his friends. - Those who love your law have great peace;
they encounter no stumbling blocks. - After he had decided to follow this course of action, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to receive Mary into your home as your wife. For this child has been conceived in her womb through the Holy Spirit.”
- This is the commandment
