True love (3/4)

  • With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.
  • For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we are to love one another.
  • For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
  • In addition to all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.
  • And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.
  • May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the perseverance of Christ.
  • And may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you.
  • So husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
  • For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
  • Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the Law.
  • Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
  • But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, that is, Christ.
  • The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
  • Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will follow My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him.”
  • In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
  • The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him.
  • And He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
  • One who conceals an offense seeks love,
But one who repeats a matter separates close friends.
  • For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
  • The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
  • Opening his mouth, Peter said:
“I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality,
but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.”
  • But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.
  • We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers and sisters.
  • For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.
  • Nevertheless, as for you individually, each husband is to love his own wife the same as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

And not only this, but we also celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope.
