- Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness:
He was manifested in the flesh,
vindicated by the Spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed among the nations,
believed on in the world,
taken up in glory. - I hasten and do not delay
to keep your commandments. - Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
- In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
- The blessing of the Lord makes rich,
and he adds no sorrow with it. - All day long he craves and craves,
but the righteous gives and does not hold back. - Better is a little with righteousness
than great revenues with injustice. - For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
- As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions.
- So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. - He who withholds kindness from a friend
forsakes the fear of the Almighty. - Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
- So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
- The young lions suffer want and hunger;
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. - Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
- So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
- Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
- I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
- You are altogether beautiful, my love;
there is no flaw in you. - Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
- Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.
- But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.
My foot has held fast to his steps;
I have kept his way and have not turned aside. - For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?
- Because I delivered the poor who cried for help,
and the fatherless who had none to help him.
The blessing of him who was about to perish came upon me,
and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. - But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction.
