- Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
- Eloquent lips are unsuited to a godless fool—
how much worse lying lips to a ruler! - Blessings crown the head of the righteous,
but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. - For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
- The tongue of the righteous is choice silver,
but the heart of the wicked is of little value. - I will extol the Lord at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips. - Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips
and spreads slander is a fool. - If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.
- Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.
- I have not departed from the commands of his lips;
I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread. - In my distress I called to the Lord;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears. - And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
- For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
- You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.
- The Lord detests lying lips,
but he delights in people who are trustworthy. - I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’
- In that day you will say:
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done,
and proclaim that his name is exalted.” - They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
- I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. - After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
- The words of a gossip are like choice morsels;
they go down to the inmost parts. - You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
- Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” - But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.Next verse!With image
