- Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
- Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done. - Gracious words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. - So is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. - Fools find no pleasure in understanding
but delight in airing their own opinions. - Save me, Lord,
from lying lips
and from deceitful tongues. - With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors,
but through knowledge the righteous escape. - May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. - All hard work brings a profit,
but mere talk leads only to poverty. - The lips of the righteous know what finds favor,
but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse. - The lips of fools bring them strife,
and their mouths invite a beating. - If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
- And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from telling lies. - Anxiety weighs down the heart,
but a kind word cheers it up. - It is to one’s honor to avoid strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel. - Keep your mouth free of perversity;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips. - Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.
- Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.
- Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
- Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips
and spreads slander is a fool. - Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
- You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.
- Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver,
but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
Blessings crown the head of the righteous,
but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.Next verse!With image For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.Personal Bible reading plan
