- He brought you low, allowing you to suffer from hunger. He then fed you with manna, something with which your fathers were not familiar, so that you might come to know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes forth from the mouth of the Lord.
- Every word of God has proved to be true;
he is a shield to those who trust in him. - My son, concentrate attentively on my words;
pay heed to the instructions I pass on to you.
Do not let them slip from your mind;
keep them forever in your heart. - You have given me the shield of your salvation;
your right hand sustains me,

You broadened the path beneath me
so that my feet have never stumbled. - He is the reflection of God’s glory
and the perfect expression of his very being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
Achieving purification from sins,
he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high. - Let the word of Christ with all its richness dwell in you. Teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God with gratitude in your hearts.

the Lord’s promise has proved true.
He is a shield to all
who take refuge in him. - I treasure your word in my heart
for fear that I may sin against you. - As Scripture asserts, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”
- Every word you utter is true,
and all your righteous judgments are everlasting. - I wait for the Lord in anxious expectation;
I place my hope in his word. - You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.
- He sent forth his word and healed them,
saving them from the grave. - The law of the Lord is perfect,
affording refreshment to the soul.
The decree of the Lord is worthy of trust,
imparting wisdom to the simple. - Therefore say to them, “Thus says the Lord God: The fulfillment of my words will not be delayed any longer. What I have said will be done now. This is the word of the Lord God.”
- The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but worldly cares and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit.
- Acquire wisdom and gain understanding;
never forget or turn aside from my words. - The one who calls you is faithful, and he will accomplish this.
- Listen, my son, and take my words to heart,
and the years of your life will be multiplied. - You have already been cleansed
by the word I have spoken to you. - Through him all things came into existence,
and without him there was nothing.
That which came to be. - Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single letter, not even a tiny portion of a letter, will disappear from the Law until all things have been accomplished.
- Jesus answered them,
“My teaching is not my own;
rather, it comes from him who sent me.” - And take the helmet of salvation as well as the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that by perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we may continue to have hope.
