As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. What is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them? But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. For we live by faith, not by sight. Lord, hear my prayer,
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor? So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children—
with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. The name of the Lord is a fortified tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path. Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. The Lord watches over the foreigner
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
