Bible Verses about Anger

“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil.Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful.
You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord. You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins.Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.
A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger.A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, But he who is impulsive exalts folly.Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.
And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
A fool vents all his feelings, But a wise man holds them back.A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.
A fool’s wrath is known at once, But a prudent man covers shame. The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult.
By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom.By insolence comes nothing but strife, but with those who take advice is wisdom.
It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel. It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will be quarreling.
Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.
‘Return, backsliding Israel,’ says the Lord; ‘I will not cause My anger to fall on you. For I am merciful,’ says the Lord; ‘I will not remain angry forever.’Return, faithless Israel, declares the Lord. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, declares the Lord; I will not be angry forever.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
