Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. | And let us consider how to spur one another to love and good works. Do not neglect to attend your assemblies, as some do, but rather encourage one another, especially since you can see the Day approaching. |
For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don’t have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. | For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another. |

See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity! | How wonderful and delightful it is for brothers to live together in unity. |
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them. | For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in their midst. |
Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous. | Finally, all of you should be united in spirit, sympathetic, filled with love for one another, compassionate, and humble. |
Now I beg you, brothers, through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment. | Brethren, I exhort you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to be in full agreement with one another and not permit any divisions to arise among you. Be perfectly united in mind and purpose. |
Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved. | Every day, united in spirit, they would assemble together in the temple. They would break bread in their homes and share their food with joyful and generous hearts as they praised God, and they were regarded with favor by all the people. And day by day the Lord added to those who were being saved. |
Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. | Over all these put on love, which is the bond of perfection. |
Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits. | Live in harmony with one another. Do not consider yourself to be better than others, but associate with the lowly, and never be conceited. |
Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another. | Beloved, since God loved us so much, we should love one another. |
Being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. | Make every possible effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. |
Now the God of perseverance and of encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus. | May the God of perseverance and encouragement grant that you may live in harmony with one another, following in the example of Jesus Christ. |
The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. | The entire community of believers was united in heart and soul. No one claimed any of his possessions as his own, for everything was held in common. |
But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son, cleanses us from all sin. | However, if we live in the light as he himself is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son purifies us from all sin. |
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. | There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free man, there is no longer male or female. For all of you are one in Christ Jesus. |
Now accept one who is weak in faith, but not for disputes over opinions. | Welcome anyone whose faith is weak, but do not get into arguments about doubts. |
Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them. | I urge you, brethren, to watch out for those who incite dissensions and obstacles in opposition to the teaching that you have learned. Take care to avoid them. |
Most certainly I tell you, he who receives whomever I send, receives me; and he who receives me, receives him who sent me. | Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. |
All these with one accord continued steadfastly in prayer and supplication, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. | All of these were constantly engaged in prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. |
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit. | For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as free men, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink. |
They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer. | They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayers. |
For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. | The body is one, although it has many parts; and all the parts, though many, form one body. So it is with Christ. |
Peter therefore was kept in the prison, but constant prayer was made by the assembly to God for him. | While Peter was thus imprisoned, the Church prayed fervently to God for him. |
Honor widows who are widows indeed. | Give proper consideration to those widows who are truly in need. |
Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? | Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? |
