| I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing! | I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. |
| So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. | Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. | For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. | For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. |
| That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.
