One should be kind to a fainting friend, but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty. | To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. |
But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. | For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. |

I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food. | Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. |
But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. | But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord. |

But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin. | Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty. |
When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before! | And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. |
