| These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. | Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. |
| What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! | What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! |

| “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. | “All things are lawful,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up. |
| For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. | If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I am commanding you today, by loving the Lord your God, walking in his ways, and observing his commandments, decrees, and ordinances, then you shall live and become numerous, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess. |
| The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these. | The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. |
| Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. | Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin. | For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. |
| If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. | If you will only obey the Lord your God, by diligently observing all his commandments that I am commanding you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. |
| Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. | Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. |
| For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” | For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” |

| Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? | Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship is there between light and darkness? |
| And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? | So now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? Only to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord your God and his decrees that I am commanding you today, for your own well-being. |
| Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. | And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. |
| Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. | Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. |
| He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. | He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? |
| My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. | This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. |

| All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. | All who have sinned apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. |
| But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! | But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. |
| But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. | Take good care to observe the commandment and instruction that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, and to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. |
| Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. | Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have boldness before God; and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him. |
| I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws. | I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your ordinances before me. |
