God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. | God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. |
For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. | For the Lord loves justice, and he will never abandon the godly. He will keep them safe forever, but the children of the wicked will die. |

Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver. | I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you. |
Let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful. | Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. |
All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. | You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it. |
For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.” | As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” |
Yahweh is with you while you are with him; and if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. | The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you. |
Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them, for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. | So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you. |
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. | Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. |
Those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, Yahweh, have not forsaken those who seek you. | Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you. |
But “he who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.” For it isn’t he who commends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commends. | As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.” When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them. |
In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty. | Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty! |
For Yahweh’s word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness. | For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. |
You who love Yahweh, hate evil! He preserves the souls of his saints. He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. | You who love the Lord, hate evil! He protects the lives of his godly people and rescues them from the power of the wicked. |
When I said, “My foot is slipping!” Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up. | I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. |
For your great loving kindness reaches to the heavens, and your truth to the skies. | For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. |
Therefore tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “None of my words will be deferred any more, but the word which I speak will be performed,” says the Lord Yahweh.’ | Therefore, tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: No more delay! I will now do everything I have threatened. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!’ |
“For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed, but my loving kindness will not depart from you, and my covenant of peace will not be removed,” says Yahweh who has mercy on you. | “For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you. |
Let your eyes look straight ahead. Fix your gaze directly before you. | Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. |
For who is God, except Yahweh? Who is a rock, besides our God? | For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? |
The Rock: his work is perfect, for all his ways are just. A God of faithfulness who does no wrong, just and right is he. | He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is! |
Hear my prayer, Yahweh. Listen to my petitions. In your faithfulness and righteousness, relieve me. | Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. |
Don’t withhold your tender mercies from me, Yahweh. Let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve me. | Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me. |
Yahweh is righteous in all his ways, and gracious in all his works. | The Lord is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness. |
The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever. | The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever. |
