who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness,
who publishes salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” - But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
- Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.
- Restore us, O Lord God of hosts!
Let your face shine, that we may be saved! - But as for me, I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
my God will hear me. - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. - And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
- I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
