- Though the fig tree does not blossom,
and no fruit is on the vines;
though the produce of the olive fails
and the fields yield no food;
though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will exult in the God of my salvation. - For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
- On God rests my deliverance and my honor;
my mighty rock, my refuge is in God. - Because you are precious in my sight,
and honored, and I love you,
I give people in return for you,
nations in exchange for your life. - I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture.
- For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
- For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
- But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
- For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel's call and with the sound of God's trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord forever.

The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer,

my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - That is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us.
- Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you stand, through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain.
- For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.
- When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears,
and rescues them from all their troubles.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted,
and saves the crushed in spirit. - He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
- Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but must endure God's wrath.
- But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
- As far as the east is from the west,
so far he removes our transgressions from us. - Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all day long. - For just as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
