- For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
- I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
- Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge:
but fools despise wisdom and instruction. - Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. - Some trust in chariots, and some in horses:
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
- He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
- Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.
- Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
- And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
- Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
- Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
- Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
- Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
- Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts:
all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. - Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
- Thou art my hiding place;
thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. - Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
- In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
- Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
- Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
- The law of the Lord is perfect,
converting the soul:
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple. - Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
