- To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
- Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow.
- So now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? Only to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord your God and his decrees that I am commanding you today, for your own well-being.
- Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you stand, through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain.
- Fine speech is not becoming to a fool;
still less is false speech to a ruler. - The memory of the righteous is a blessing,
but the name of the wicked will rot. - I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous ordinances. - Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
- Then the Lord God said, “See, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
- He said, “Then put away the foreign gods that are among you, and incline your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
- On God rests my deliverance and my honor;
my mighty rock, my refuge is in God. - I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
- The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever else you get, get insight. - Go, eat your bread with enjoyment, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has long ago approved what you do.
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk blamelessly. - The Lord is good,
a stronghold in a day of trouble;
he protects those who take refuge in him. - Surely the Lord God does nothing,
without revealing his secret
to his servants the prophets. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. - For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline.
- What then should we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet, if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
- Jesus then said, “I will be with you a little while longer, and then I am going to him who sent me.”
- And now I am about to go the way of all the earth, and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one thing has failed of all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you; all have come to pass for you, not one of them has failed.
- The end of all things is near; therefore be serious and discipline yourselves for the sake of your prayers.
- Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.
- Save us, we beseech you, O Lord!
O Lord, we beseech you, give us success!
