Age (2/3)

  • Therefore, encourage one another and strengthen one another, as indeed you are doing.
  • May the God of perseverance and encouragement grant that you may live in harmony with one another, following in the example of Jesus Christ.
  • God saved us and called us to a life of holiness, not because of our works but according to his own purpose and the grace that has been bestowed upon us in Christ Jesus from all eternity.
  • Indeed, creation itself eagerly awaits the revelation of the children of God.
  • Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.
  • For from the beginning
    you have heard the message
that we should love one another.
  • For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that by perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we may continue to have hope.
  • Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right?
  • Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified of them, for the Lord, your God, is going forth with you. He will never leave you or abandon you.
  • From that day forward Jesus began to proclaim the message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.”
  • Although we are human beings, we do not engage in battle according to human standards.
  • This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
  • Those who accepted his message were baptized, and on that day about three thousand people were added to their number.
  • And now, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways. Encourage one another. Be of one mind and live in peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
  • All of these were constantly engaged in prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
  • Meanwhile, the Church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace, building up strength and living in the fear of the Lord. Encouraged by the Holy Spirit, the Church grew in numbers.
  • This is the message
that we have heard from him
and that we declare to you:
    God is light,
and there is no darkness at all in him.
  • I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love so that they may grow rich in their complete understanding as they come to the knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ.
  • For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.
  • Indeed, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
  • I have told you this
so that in me you may be in peace.
    In the world
    you will endure suffering.
    But take courage!
    I have overcome the world.
  • You might say to yourself, “How can we know that the Lord did not speak the message?” If what the prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord is not true and it does not happen, then the message was not proclaimed by the Lord. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, you should not fear him.
  • For the wages of sin is death, but the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • And let us consider how to spur one another to love and good works. Do not neglect to attend your assemblies, as some do, but rather encourage one another, especially since you can see the Day approaching.
  • The heavens proclaim the glory of God;
the firmament shows forth the work of his hands.
One day imparts that message to the next,
and night conveys that knowledge to night.

Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which separated and came to rest on each one of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit enabled them to do so.

Bible verse of the day

In my anguish I cried out to the Lord
and called to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice,
and my cry to him reached his ears.
