- I have swept away your offenses like a cloud,
your sins like the morning mist.
Return to me,
for I have redeemed you. - For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
- And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us. - As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning.
- But let justice roll on like a river,
righteousness like a never-failing stream! - I will sing to the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. - If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
- There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.
- Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield. - For this is what the Lord has commanded us:
“I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” - A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
- Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
- I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches. - I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land. - “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.” - But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.
- For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
- After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.
- This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
- And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
- The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights. - Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children.
- And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors. - But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.Next verse!With image
