- Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard?
- I also ask that the women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing. They should be adorned not with braided hair or with gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good works, as is fitting for women who profess their reverence for God.
- Call to me and I will answer you and reveal to you great and mysterious secrets about which you are unaware.
- O Lord, you are kind and forgiving,
filled with kindness for all who cry to you. - But the one who did not know those wishes, and who acted in such a manner as to deserve a beating, will be beaten less severely. Much will be demanded of a person to whom much has been given, and even more will be asked of a person to whom more has been entrusted.

or to the pot that is displeased with the potter.

“What are you doing?
Your work makes no sense.” - Do not forsake your friend or the friend of your father,
and do not run to your brother’s house when troubles befall you;
far better is a friend nearby
than a brother who is far away. - And so now, O Israel, what does the Lord, your God, require of you but to fear the Lord, your God, to walk in all of his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord, your God, with all your heart and all your soul, and to observe the commandments and the statutes that I am giving you today for your own good.
