Bible Verses about 'Ask'

  • You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.
  • And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
  • And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.
  • You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.
  • But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
  • You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.
  • Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
  • If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
  • And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
  • And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
  • But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
  • So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.
  • You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.
  • You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.
  • This is what the Lord says:
“Stop at the crossroads and look around.
Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.
Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.
But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’”
  • Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.
  • I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.
  • Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
  • Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.
  • Don’t long for “the good old days.”
    This is not wise.
  • Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
  • Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?
  • O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
  • The Lord says,
“I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help.
I was ready to be found, but no one was looking for me.
I said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’
to a nation that did not call on my name.”
  • I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.

The one thing I ask of the Lord
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
delighting in the Lord’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple.
