Believe and receive (3/4)

  • Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
  • Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.
  • “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
  • But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
  • I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
  • And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
  • I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
  • Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”
  • Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.
  • Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
  • Where there is strife, there is pride,
but wisdom is found in those who take advice.
  • Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
  • Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
  • Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
  • “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”
  • I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
  • For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
  • So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
  • Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
  • But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
  • Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
  • Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
  • For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
  • Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
  • Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.
