- I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
- But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
- Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.

- Do not nurse hatred in your heart for any of your relatives. Confront people directly so you will not be held guilty for their sin. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
- Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones. - May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing to you,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. - Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.
- My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.
- “All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence.
- Soon I will die, going the way of everything on earth. Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true. Not a single one has failed!

Store my commands in your heart.
If you do this, you will live many years,
and your life will be satisfying. - I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes.
- For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
- Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
- That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.
- Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other.
- We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. - But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.
- “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
- Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!
- All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.
