- Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
- He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
- In their hearts humans plan their course,
but the Lord establishes their steps. - For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
- Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. - A gift opens the way
and ushers the giver into the presence of the great. - We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
- Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near. - If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
- The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
- For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does. - The unfolding of your words gives light;
it gives understanding to the simple. - Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value,
but righteousness delivers from death. - Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
- My mouth is filled with your praise,
declaring your splendor all day long. - There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the Lord.
- Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor. - A person’s riches may ransom their life,
but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes. - Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
- The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit. - My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge. - A gossip betrays a confidence,
but a trustworthy person keeps a secret. - Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,
but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. - The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom.
Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
