- Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life.
- You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child. If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry, and my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless.

my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. - Train up a child in the way he should go;

and like a high wall in his imagination. - When your eyes light on it, it is gone,
for suddenly it sprouts wings,
flying like an eagle toward heaven. - The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels;
they go down into the inner parts of the body. - For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night. - Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
- Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.
