| And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent. | God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, but now he commands people everywhere to repent. |

| Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. | During the day the Lord grants his kindness, and at night his praise is with me, a prayer to the living God. |
| The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. | A wise man will heed commandments, but a babbling fool will come to grief. |
| I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments. | I will make haste and not delay to observe your precepts. |

| We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments. | We have sinned and done what is wrong, we have acted wickedly and rebelled, we have rejected your commandments and your laws. |
| But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. | Take heed to follow the commandments and the laws that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave you: to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways and to observe his commandments, holding fast to him and serving him with all your heart and all your soul. |
| And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us. | If we are diligent in observing all of these commandments before the Lord, our God, as he commanded of us, then this will be our righteousness. |
