  • I have made a covenant with my eyes;
    how then could I look upon a virgin?
  • Let it be known to you therefore, my brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you; by this Jesus everyone who believes is set free from all those sins from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.
  • And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
  • I do not nullify the grace of God; for if justification comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.
  • But he was wounded for our transgressions,
    crushed for our iniquities;
    upon him was the punishment that made us whole,
    and by his bruises we are healed.
  • For all of us make many mistakes. Anyone who makes no mistakes in speaking is perfect, able to keep the whole body in check with a bridle.
  • Where can I go from your spirit?
    Or where can I flee from your presence?
    If I ascend to heaven, you are there;
    if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.
  • I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
  • When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
  • For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
    nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord.
  • Know then in your heart that as a parent disciplines a child so the Lord your God disciplines you.
  • Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.
  • Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?
  • For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
  • Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
  • Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today.
  • If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
  • What then are we to say? Should we continue in sin in order that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin go on living in it?
  • If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
  • But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to make this freewill offering? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
  • Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And just then there appeared a woman with a spirit that had crippled her for eighteen years. She was bent over and was quite unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Woman, you are set free from your ailment.” When he laid his hands on her, immediately she stood up straight and began praising God. But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had cured on the sabbath, kept saying to the crowd, “There are six days on which work ought to be done; come on those days and be cured, and not on the sabbath day.” But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger, and lead it away to give it water? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be set free from this bondage on the sabbath day?” When he said this, all his opponents were put to shame; and the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things that he was doing.
  • God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are, so that no one might boast in the presence of God.
  • But for that very reason I received mercy, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display the utmost patience, making me an example to those who would come to believe in him for eternal life.
  • He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
  • And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And all ate and were filled. What was left over was gathered up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.

“Ananias,” Peter asked, “why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, were not the proceeds at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You did not lie to us but to God!”
